Baptism is a public declaration of faith and a powerful symbol of what Christ has already done in your life—dying to your old life and rising to new life in Him (Romans 6:3–4; Colossians 2:12). It is also an act of obedience to Jesus Christ, following His command to believers to be baptized (Matthew 28:19).
In accordance with Foursquare Church doctrine, baptism is:
***For those who have personally placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour (Acts 2:38; Acts 8:36–37)
***A step taken after salvation, not as a means of salvation (Ephesians 2:8–9; Acts 10:47–48)
***Normally practiced by full immersion, symbolizing death, burial, and resurrection with Christ (Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)
***Open to believers who can understand the meaning and significance of baptism (Mark 16:16; Luke 14:27
Prior to baptism, individuals will receive pastoral guidance and instruction to ensure they understand the biblical meaning of baptism and are prepared to take this important step in their faith journey (Acts 8:30–35).
